Wal-Mart: We're not afraid to say Merry Christmas
Wal-Mart has told its employees that it's OK to once again greet shoppers by saying "Merry Christmas" this holiday season instead of the generic "Happy Holidays."
This is good news. Pretending that Christmas isn't the reason people are in the stores is denying the obvious. America's about 80% Christian and an even higher percentage celebrate Christmas.
Wishing someone well shouldn't be considered offensive. Christians aren't offended (or shouldn't be) when greeted with "Mazel Tov!" or a similar greeting. The same should hold true for a non-Christian wished Merry Christmas. Take the spirit in which the greeting is offered, even if it's not the way you would have wished to be greeted. The person means you well. Accept it and don't make the perfect the enemy of the good.

It shouldn't be, but then again there is nothing wrong with being inclusive and wishing people Happy Holidays instead of something exclusive like Merry Xmas
