Planet of the Apes
I caught the tail end of the first movie the other night and it caused me to think about all the various spin-offs of the movie. There was the book that started it all. The movie sequels. The TV show. (Which I somehow remember, even though it ended when I was five months old. I must remember it from syndication, although why a show that lasted only 14 episodes got syndicated, I don't understand.) The cartoon show. But without a doubt, the greatest version of Planet of the Apes was the musical:
Sheer brilliance.
