Gazizza? What's that?
According to UrbanDictionary.com, "gazziza" is simply a greeting meaning "Hello" or "What's Up?" More importantly, it's from NewsRadio which, for my money, is most likely the greatest TV show of all time.
Specifically, it originally appeared in the episode "Office Feud" in the 3rd Season when Bill becomes the spokesman for Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor, which offends Catherine since it is aimed at the poor. So, she gets him drunk on the stuff and convinces him that the "Street talk" he's using is hopeless out of date and helps him update it. For example, she convinces him that instead of "What's Up?" people now say "Gazizza" and "friend" is now "Dilznoofus."
Here's a transcript of the updated ad:
Gazizza, Dilznoofus, this is Bill McNeal saying, get with the crazappy taste of Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor! Rocket Fuel's got the upstate prison flavor that keeps you ugly all night long. So when you want to get sick, remember, nothing makes your feet stank like Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor. Damn, it's crazappy!Or listen to it here. (more NewsRadio sounds here.)
So you really picked your domain name because of that?
It's true. I have no life. I'm a sad, sad, man.
